AAA has announced that a highly anticipated contract signing between Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano will take place at the upcoming Ola de Calor event, setting the stage for their upcoming AAA Mega Championship clash.
The championship bout is scheduled for AAA Triplemania 34 in September 2026, where Mysterio will put his Mega title on the line. Having held the championship for over 340 days, Mysterio will finally face the challenge from Americano at the major pay-per-view event.
However, before their official match, both competitors will meet at AAA Ola de Calor on August 30, 2026, where they will formally sign the contract for their title showdown. AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio is set to oversee and moderate the contract signing ceremony between the two rivals.
Americano earned his opportunity by claiming victory at the Rey de Reyes tournament in March, defeating notable competitors including La Parka, Santos Escobar, and The Original El Grande Americano in the process.
The rivalry between Mysterio and Grande Americano intensified after the champion turned his back on Americano during their match at Verano de Escandalo, which took place within a bout involving Perros del Mal.
