In a pre-recorded video address to the United Nations General Assembly, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas challenged the international community, questioning how long the global community would remain silent while continuing to supply weapons to Israel. Abbas was unable to attend the event in person due to United States visa sanctions imposed on Palestinian Authority officials.
