Grammy-winning producer and engineer Rafa Sardina will lead the new program set to open in October, bringing his extensive industry experience to the Abbey Road Institute’s expanding mission.
As part of the legendary London studio network, the Abbey Road Institute is establishing a Los Angeles campus this year. The school will offer immersive training for music producers, engineers, and music business professionals in a real-world studio environment.
Located at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, the campus will leverage the iconic location’s legacy. Students will have access to United Recording’s four studios—acclaimed for hosting sessions by artists like Frank Sinatra, Green Day, and Radiohead—for specialized classes and hands-on projects.
Sardina emphasized the institute’s purpose in a statement, stating it represents “a long-held dream to share professional insights with emerging creatives.” He expressed excitement about mentoring the next generation of music industry professionals, from mixers to business experts.
The Abbey Road Institute began in 2015, with campuses now spanning London, Paris, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, and Sydney. The Los Angeles location marks the second U.S. campus, following the 2020 opening in Miami, and continues the institute’s global focus on practical music production education.
