(RTTNews) – ACI Worldwide, Inc. (ACIW) has partnered with the European Payments Initiative (EPI) to integrate Wero’s digital wallet solutions into its ACI Payments Orchestration Platform.
The collaboration enables intermediaries to offer Wero as a new payment option for consumers and businesses across Europe, leveraging SEPA instant payment infrastructure.
Wero, developed by a consortium of 16 European banks and launched by EPI in 2024, supports instant transactions for peer-to-peer, e-commerce, and point-of-sale purchases. It is currently active in Belgium, France, and Germany.
EPI aims to expand Wero’s reach to the Netherlands and Luxembourg soon, with potential for broader European adoption. The EU’s Instant Payments Regulation positions Wero as a driver for increased instant payment usage across the region.
Additionally, ACI provides instant payment rails across Europe, offering banks and payment service providers enhanced solutions. The company currently operates 26 payment services across six continents, including 11 core infrastructure platforms.
ACI’s shares closed at $45.24 on Nasdaq, up 1.98%, reflecting market confidence in its payment solutions.
