Adou Thiero could make his NBA debut for the Lakers on Friday after being cleared from the injury report due to lingering left knee swelling.
The Lakers’ second-year forward was taken off the injury list for the home matchup against the Trail Blazers after being sidelined since preseason because of left knee swelling.
Thiero participated in the Lakers’ first three preseason exhibitions, averaging 5.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in 18.4 minutes of playing time.
After being restricted from court activities for several days during the opening week of the regular season, the Lakers ramped him back up.
The swelling was happening in the same knee that he had surgery on during the spring of 2025. He was also sidelined during training camp, preseason, and the first 13 games of the regular season while dealing with left knee swelling.
The 6-foot-8 forward was assigned to the franchise’s G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers, for practice on Wednesday before being recalled Thursday.
Sandro Mamukelashvili is listed as questionable for Friday because of an illness.
Bronny James and Cameron Carr will be on assignment with the Coachella Valley Lakers for Friday’s season opener against the Salt Lake City Stars at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert.
