Collision
Date: October 10, 2026
Venue: Adidas Arena, Paris, France
Commentary Team: Nigel McGuinness, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur
The show continues in Paris for the second half of Grand Slam, which looks to be a stacked affair. Following a solid Dynamite episode, Collision brings a deep roster, highlighted by a Clockwork Carnage qualifying bout and a rematch between Chris Jericho and Nick Wayne. Let’s get underway.
Conglomeration vs. Death Riders
Under Tornado Tag rules with Jon Moxley on commentary, Yuta leaps on Nightingale to start—a move that feels a bit one‑sided. Yuta and Cassidy remain in the ring, exchanging roll‑ups until a Stundog Millionaire puts Yuta on the defensive. Shafir enters, targeting O’Reilly’s leg, leading to a brief stalemate. Nightingale attempts to intervene, but Shafir counters with a rolling German suplex.
The action resumes as Nightingale takes Shafir out, then engages in a chop exchange with Castagnoli. Yuta follows with a suicide dive onto Nightingale, and Castagnoli turns Cassidy’s dive into a tilt‑a‑whirl backbreaker. After a brief intermission, O’Reilly finds himself ganged up on by three opponents. Yuta launches a massive springboard dive to the outside, sending Castagnoli out with him. This leaves Nightingale to clothesline Shafir in the corner and hit a Pounce on Yuta to the floor.
Back inside, Cassidy lands an Orange Punch on Castagnoli and attempts his own Swing, only to have it reversed into the authentic version. Strong re‑enters, delivering a backbreaker to Garcia but failing to connect on Shafir. The Dragontamer puts Nightingale in a precarious position while O’Reilly simultaneously applies an ankle lock on Shafir. The two women, each caught in a hold, slap at each other until they are separated. A series of running elbows in the corner wear down O’Reilly, and he succumbs to a Spike Neutralizer at 14:36.
Rating: B. This opening bout delivers plenty of excitement despite the unconventional rules. The focus is on mixing various combinations and letting the competitors have fun—a hallmark of AEW. The teams can exchange victories without significant consequence, and the inclusion of the women adds extra variety. A solid opener.
Chris Jericho hints that he will bring Collision to his upcoming cruise next month.
Chris Jericho vs. Nick Wayne
This is a rematch of Jericho’s previous victory over Wayne. Wayne springs from behind to start fast, but Jericho—sporting beads around his neck to taunt Wayne—responds with a series of chops. A backdrop sends Jericho to the floor, setting up a dive; Wayne lingers before getting up, allowing Jericho to hit a triangle dropkick from the apron followed by another dive.
Jericho tosses a few beads to a fan but gets caught with a Sliced Bread on the floor (McGuinness jokes, “Or would you call that a Sliced Baguette?”). He quickly rebounds, hitting an AA onto the announcers’ table before the break. After the interval, Jericho dominates from the top rope and lands a super hurricanrana.
Encouraged by the result, Jericho repeats the hurricanrana two more times—eventually hitting it four in total. He then sets up for the Judas Effect but runs into a running neckbreaker. After regaining his feet, Jericho connects with a Codebreaker, although his Lionsault attempt is thwarted. Instead, he applies The Walls, prompting Wayne to bite the ankle to break free. A kick to the head follows, and Wayne caps the sequence with his Wayne’s World finish at 13:19.
Rating: B‑. Wayne finally reclaims the victory he’s been seeking. The outcome likely plants the seed for a third encounter, with little incentive for Jericho to overcome him again. While the quartet of hurricanranas provided a highlight, the decisive factor is the result—Wayne secures a significant win before an engaged audience.
Wayne appears stunned by his victory.
Kazuchika Okada expresses interest in joining the Clockwork Carnage match.
Clockwork Carnage Qualifying Match: Lee Moriarty vs. Mike Bailey
Moriarty’s ROH Pure Rules championship is not at stake. He initiates with a takedown, but Bailey counters with a hurricanrana. Bailey misses a top‑rope maneuver and gets caught in a headscissors to slow the pace. A hot shot followed by a swinging neckbreaker puts Bailey down again, leading into a cross‑arm choke. Bailey rises, sends Moriarty outside for a triangle moonsault, and the action pauses for a break.
After the break, both competitors are down on the floor. They scramble back inside, lock hands, and trade strikes, leading to a series of roll‑ups that each earn two counts. Moriarty attempts the Border City Stretch, but it is broken up almost as quickly as Schiavone can call the action. Bailey rises, drops Moriarty with a kick, and secures the Ultimate Weapon for the pin at 9:42.
Rating: C+. This bout lacked significant drama, partly because Bailey is both a bigger name and the reigning ROH champion, which tilted the odds against Moriarty. Bailey performed as expected, mixing strikes with a cool finishing sequence. The match was rushed to get Bailey qualified, but it accomplished its goal despite the limited narrative.
Following the match, Will Ospreay enters to celebrate with Bailey.
Ricochet also indicates he would like to compete in the Clockwork Carnage.
Swerve Strickland vs. Carlie Bravo
Also present are New Level and Shane Taylor Promotions. Strickland opens aggressively, dropping Bravo with a kick and following with a basement dropkick for an early near‑fall. He transitions into an Octopus hold, then lands a series of neckbreakers that put Bravo on the back foot. After getting back to his feet, Bravo counters with a quick Zig Zag, unleashing offense before applying a chinlock.
Strickland rebounds quickly, delivering a rolling Downward Spiral. The accompanying promotions intervene, creating a distraction that pulls Strickland outside while Taylor dispatches New Level. A slingshot cutter earns Bravo a two‑count, prompting Strickland to kick him in the face. Strickland seals the win with a Swerve Stomp at 6:42.
Rating: C+. Bravo produced a respectable amount of offense, but Strickland’s victory was hampered by outside interference. It is satisfying to see Strickland prevail here, avoiding the need to further elevate the promotions, which have been overused in recent storylines.
The Death Riders declare their intent to continue working hard, with Jon Moxley eyeing a showdown against Mark Davis at WrestleDream. Gabe Kidd calls for a bout with the Don Callis Family on Dynamite, while Marina Shafir asserts that the Death Riders stand opposed to the world.
National Title: Andrade El Idolo vs. Michael Oku
Michael Oku, accompanied by Amira, steps up for the challenge. An early knockdown fails to give Oku the opportunity to lock in his half crab, so he instead knees Andrade to the mat. This earns him a tranquilo pose on the ropes, allowing Oku to knock Andrade outside. Andrade retaliates by cutting off a charge with an overhead belly‑to‑belly that sends Oku into the barricade.
The action pauses for a photo opportunity, giving Oku a chance to attempt another move and pose for his own picture. After a break, Oku secures an enthusiastic half crab, though it is released quickly. He follows with a frog splash to Oku’s back, but misses the chest target. Instead, Andrade lands a Dia de los Muertos followed by the DM, ending the bout at 8:17.
Rating: C+. Oku is a technically proficient competitor, but the primary purpose of the match seemed to be getting Andrade back in the ring—a reasonable objective. Andrade’s momentum continues, although I remain curious about how he will handle his World Title contract moving forward. Seeing him pursue that after a title loss would be logical, though it does raise questions about preserving the integrity of the #1 contender spot. Overall, it’s a serviceable contest despite its limited duration.
After the match, Andrade displays the contract and declares his intention to defend the title weekly. He prepares his catchphrase, but the lights cut out and Tommaso Ciampa appears, interrupting the moment. The two shake hands, Ciampa kisses Andrade on the cheek, and then delivers Willow’s Bell.
Sisters Of Sin vs. Kris Statlander/Harley Cameron vs. Megan Bayne/Lena Kross
The teams compete for a chance to face the Brawling Birds, who provide commentary. To begin, Kross, Bayne, and Statlander brawl on the floor as the opening bell rings. Cameron lands an elbow on Blue in the corner, and Statlander responds with a slingshot hilo from the apron. Hart breaks up Cameron’s half crab, allowing Kross and Bayne to regain control. Bayne clears the ring, prompting a break.
After the break, Statlander drops Hart with a move good for a two‑count, while the Sisters land a double basement superkick that also earns Cameron a two‑count. Kross and Bayne deliver stereo Towers of Doom, followed by a dropkick‑German suplex combo that gives Hart another two‑count. Statlander counters Divine Intervention with a double hurricanrana and finishes Hart with Staturday Night Fever at 8:21.
Rating: B‑. Introducing fresh talent into the title scene is a positive step, even if the Cameron‑Statlander partnership feels somewhat random. At minimum, it prevents Bayne and Kross from receiving another opportunity too soon. The Sisters Of Sin remain positioned in the middle of the pack, a status they have maintained for quite some time, regardless of any Stardom accolades.
Tag Team Titles: The Dogs vs. Young Bucks
The Young Bucks, defending the titles, are ambushed before the opening bell. The advantage is short‑lived as they retaliate with their signature high‑five bulldogs. The Dogs are forced outside for suicide dives, but Finlay catches Matt with a crotch shot on the top rope. Nick enters with a flying clothesline on Finlay, setting up a series of rolling northern lights suplexes. A hanging Swanton connects for the Bucks, while Conner answers with a running shoulder thrust to the floor.
After a pause, Matt attempts a dive to the floor, but the intended tag is interrupted. A rolling tag proves more effective, bringing Nick back in to clear the ring. The top‑rope Swanton followed by an elbow earns the Bucks two‑counts each, while a sunset flip transitioned into a German suplex places Finlay in jeopardy.
The action moves to stereo Sharpshooters, both of which are broken up. A series of superkicks only manages to drop the Bucks, as Finlay clotheslines each of them to the mat. The Meltzer Driver is halted by a spear, and a high/low combination nets Matt a two‑count. The Full Clip adds another two‑count, requiring Nick to break up the pin. A superbomb is thwarted by a super hurricanrana, and the BTE Trigger ultimately secures the victory for the Young Bucks at 13:28.
Rating: B‑. The contest occupied an awkward position, given the limited narrative flexibility when the outcome seems predetermined. While a Bucks loss was never realistic, the match still served its purpose of featuring the champions before the Paris crowd—a reasonable approach. Despite the Dogs’ efforts, it delivers a satisfactory main event.
Following the bout, the Don Callis Family rushes in to assault the Bucks ahead of their upcoming title match at WrestleDream. The Family then stands tall as the program concludes.
