AEW’s Lee Moriarty Finds Inspiration in All In London’s Blockbuster Championship Matches

An AEW talent has shared that he feels deeply “inspired” by two marquee championship matches scheduled for All In: London, set to take place on August 30.

With the highly anticipated AEW pay-per-view just days away, Lee Moriarty opened up about his perspective on the standout contests lined up for this Sunday’s event.

In an interview with Fox News OutKick, the accomplished wrestler reflected on the storied histories behind Will Ospreay versus Kenny Omega and Willow Nightingale versus Mercedes Moné, stating:

“I’d certainly identify the two major marquee matches as the AEW Men’s and Women’s Championship bouts.

“Kenny Omega versus Will Ospreay, particularly given the remarkable history they’ve built over the years. One of my all-time favorite matches to watch was their encounter at Forbidden Door. I believe it took place in Canada at that time.

“Then we have Mercedes Moné facing Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Their rivalry traces back to their days competing for the New Japan Strong Championship and the TBS Championship.

“There’s such rich history between all these competitors in each matchup. I believe these contests will be truly special, and I’m genuinely looking forward to watching them and drawing inspiration from them.”

While Moriarty is not featured on this year’s event card, he revealed what he believes it will take to secure his place at future AEW pay-per-views:

“I believe it simply requires the work I’ve been dedicated to.

“Continuing to put in the effort. Much of professional wrestling comes down to timing and preparation. I’m prepared. It’s merely the timing aspect, and I will get there. I truly believe that.

“I’ll continue to demonstrate that I’m among the finest professional wrestlers in the world when it comes to technical wrestling. Right now, I’m the best pure wrestler on the planet.”

Not Everyone Can Be All In

Shane Taylor Promotions—which includes Lee Moriarty, Carlie Bravo, Shane Taylor, and Shawn Dean—competed at last year’s All In event held in Texas. Their bout appeared on the Zero Hour pre-show, marking Moriarty’s sole appearance at All In to date.

The pay-per-view stands as one of the most significant events on the AEW calendar. Its return to London, England, sets the benchmark for international showcases, featuring an exceptionally strong lineup. With speculation that new talents may make their debuts at Wembley Stadium, established stars inevitably find themselves excluded from the card.

Selecting which performers to feature from his expanding roster presents a considerable challenge for Tony Khan, comparable to the decisions faced by his WWE counterparts. With limited opportunities available and many slots occupied by top-tier names—whether they hold championship titles or not—difficult choices must be made. While fans may have their own opinions about who deserves placement, Khan must consider not only the main show but also the narrative arcs that will emerge from the event.

For Moriarty, his path back to the All In card is clear, and this ambition is likely shared by many other AEW performers, intensifying the competitive landscape.
