The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recently convened a successful two‑day meeting with the chairpersons and vice‑chairperson of its judicial tribunals at its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The meeting’s purpose was to gather the leadership of the Disciplinary Board, Appeal Board, Legal Committee, Governance Committee, and the CAF Secretariat — headed by Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu — to review the draft regulations and discuss possible improvements.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe announced on 29 March 2026, following the CAF Executive Committee meeting in Cairo, that CAF will implement revisions to its Statutes and Regulations, enhancing trust and confidence in its referees, VAR operators, and the Disciplinary and Appeal Boards.
According to Dr. Motsepe, these reforms will also prevent the incidents that occurred during the final match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco from recurring.
Attendees included Augustin Senghor (Chairperson of the CAF Committee for Legal Affairs and National Associations), Elvis Chetty (Vice‑Chairperson of the CAF Committee for Legal Affairs and National Associations), Ousmane Kane (Chairperson of the CAF Disciplinary Board), Jane Njeri Onyango (Vice‑Chairperson of the CAF Disciplinary Board), Timothy Masauko Msungama (member of the CAF Appeal Board), Ahmed Megahed (CAF Governance Committee), Dieudonné Happi (Vice‑Chair of the CAF Governance Committee), Samson Adamu (Acting General Secretary of CAF), and Cedrick Aghey (Director of Legal Affairs and Compliance).
