AIA Group Ltd (AAGIY, AAIGF, 1299.HK), a Hong Kong-based insurance and finance company, reported higher profit and Insurance revenue in its first half of fiscal 2026.
Net profit attributable to shareholders rose to $4.294 billion from last year’s $2.534 billion. Earnings per share increased to $0.41, up from $0.24 in the prior year.
Operating profit after tax (OPAT) grew 11% to $4.163 billion, with basic OPAT per share rising 13% to 39.95 cents. The company highlighted a strong operating margin of 15.2 percent.
Earnings from new business (VONB) totaled $3.212 billion, reflecting a 10% overall increase and a 14% growth excluding Thailand. Annualised new premiums (ANP) surged 12% to $5.655 billion.
The insurance service result reached $4.177 billion, a 12% increase from $3.627 billion. Insurance revenue climbed to $11.686 billion, driven by proactive in-force management and VONB expansion.
The company also announced a 10% higher interim dividend, raising it to 53.90 Hong Kong cents per share.
