Airbus Identifies A321neo Manufacturing Defect, Says Aircraft Remain Safe to Fly

Airbus said Thursday that it had identified a quality defect that could reduce the corrosion resistance of internal fuselage structures on A321neo aircraft.

Air Current previously reported that the issue could affect more than 500 planes.

The aircraft manufacturer said affected planes could continue operating because the problem relates to manufacturing quality rather than flight safety.

Airbus said it had identified and contained the source of the issue and developed a remedy.
