WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles provided an update on Chelsea Green following their recent encounter at the WWE Performance Center.
Chelsea Green, who recently captured the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2026, is currently dealing with an orbital bone injury sustained during her title reign.
Styles discussed Green’s condition on his podcast, “The AJ Styles Show,” revealing that he connected with her at the Performance Center in Florida. During their conversation, he learned that WWE officials are considering having her wear a protective mask moving forward.
“They’re going to throw a mask on her, I’m sure of it. I actually did get to see her. I think she came down to the trainers. I believe she lives in Florida, so I saw her at the trainers at the Performance Center, and she’s doing okay. She’s not mad about the situation. It is what it is. She said she’s got some bad luck,” Styles said.
The Hall of Famer drew comparisons between Green’s situation and other wrestlers who turned adversity into opportunity, specifically referencing Becky Lynch’s path to stardom following her injury.
“To me, when I see someone get hurt and they go, ‘Nope, we’re still doing this,’ to me, it makes them a bigger babyface. Becky Lynch became a super-duper star because she got punched in the face. I think it broke her nose. I could be wrong about this. She became a bigger star because of that. Like, she became a star because of it, because that picture of her all bloodied up going, ‘Come on.’ You know, like, ‘Oh my gosh, that was so freaking awesome.’ I remember seeing it and going, ‘Wow, that’s a star.'”
Green’s recent promo work on WWE SmackDown alongside Nick Aldis and Gunther has earned widespread acclaim from both fans and industry professionals.
