Alejandro Alvarado’s First MLS Goal Seals San Diego FC’s 1-0 Victory Over FC Dallas

Alejandro Alvarado netted his first MLS goal in the 50th minute, propelling San Diego FC to a 1-0 triumph over FC Dallas in a tightly contested match at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday.

CJ dos Santos recorded a single save to secure his first clean sheet of the season, anchoring San Diego FC’s defensive effort (5-7-5, 20 points).

Jonathan Sirois made four saves for Dallas (7-5-5, 26 points) after entering in the 19th minute following starter Daniel’s injury, who had three stops prior to exiting.

San Diego dominated possession at nearly 70% to extend their unbeaten run against FC Dallas to 3-0-1 in their two-season head-to-head history.

Alvarado broke the deadlock early in the second half, firing a powerful right-footed strike from outside the box into the bottom corner.

FC Dallas responded with its sole shot on target in the 52nd minute, but Petar Musa’s close-range header was denied by dos Santos.

Omni Valakari nearly doubled San Diego’s lead in the 59th minute, only to see his left-footed effort rattle the post.

In the 72nd minute, Anderson Julio surged forward for Dallas, but dos Santos intervened to prevent a pass to Santiago Moreno, who subsequently chipped an open-net opportunity over the crossbar.

San Diego faced a late scare in stoppage time when Manu Duah’s misplaced pass allowed Logan Farrington to race in on goal, but Duah recovered to block the shot with his foot.

The match concluded one minute later, with San Diego outshooting Dallas 19-7 and maintaining an 8-1 advantage in shots on target.

Dallas lost Daniel in the 16th minute after he stretched awkwardly to make a point-blank save, leading to Sirois’s substitution in the 19th minute.

The visitors controlled the first half 13-2 in shots but failed to capitalize, with Marcus Ingvartsen’s close-range attempt in the 32nd minute thwarted by Sirois.
