DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — All 14 individuals aboard were killed when an Aramco helicopter crashed in Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning, the Saudi Ministry of Energy stated.
The crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m. in Ras Tanura, resulting in the deaths of 14 Saudi nationals, the statement added. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause.
The helicopter was operated by Aramco, the state‑controlled oil giant.
Aramco has recently had to adapt after oil supplies were disrupted by conflict with Iran, which increased prices. The company moved some exports to an overland pipeline to sidestep the Strait of Hormuz, which came under Iranian control.
