Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) announced on Friday that it has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement for electricity generated by the Gennaker offshore wind farm in Germany and has also committed to four new wind energy projects in Sweden.

The German agreement calls for the purchase of 600 megawatts of carbon‑free power from Gennaker, which, once operational, is expected to supply enough electricity each year to serve over one million households.

In Sweden, Amazon signed four additional PPAs, bringing its total carbon‑free capacity in the country to nearly one gigawatt. With these deals, the company now has investments in nine utility‑scale wind projects across Sweden.

On the NASDAQ, AMZN closed Thursday’s session at $256.26, down $4.02 (1.5%). In pre‑market trading, the stock rose to $257.52, up $1.64 (0.57%).
