It appears that nearly every prominent figure in entertainment, music, and sports received an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden, but comedian Amy Schumer was notably absent.
The comedian and actress responded on Instagram with a series of posts, including a parody outfit from the rehearsal dinner and a still from her series Life & Beth. She wrote on Friday morning, “The rehearsal dinner was fantastic — who knows what she has planned for us?”
In the second post, which also featured co‑star Michael Cera, the caption read, “Okay, so why weren’t we invited?”
Schumer has a history of lampooning Swift; in 2016 she mocked the singer’s Grammy attire, prompting a backlash that she addressed by saying, “I am a comic and should never make fun of myself at the expense of anyone else that I wasn’t making fun of in the first place.” She later urged everyone to “take a deep breath.”
Schumer’s representative later told People that “Amy loves Taylor and was making a joke because she doesn’t have a thigh gap.”
After weeks of speculation, Swift and Kelce hosted a rehearsal dinner on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, attended by friends and family such as Lena Dunham and Gigi Hadid. The actual wedding on Friday, also at MSG, featured a much larger guest list of A‑list celebrities, industry executives, and musicians.
The ceremony showcased a slate of musicians, including frequent collaborators Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, as well as friends like Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney, and Maren Morris.
Other close friends in attendance were Abigail Andersen, Ashley Avignone, Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, and Zoë Kravitz; additionally, Karli Kloss arrived with her husband Joshua Kushner, a surprise given rumors of tension between her and Swift.
