The truce established in October has failed to halt the Israeli military’s operations throughout the Gaza Strip. Escalating violence has resulted in a rising death toll, with no area deemed off-limits, including residential homes, displacement camps, and funeral processions.
While Israel maintains that its strikes target Hamas combatants, the Gaza Health Ministry reports that the majority of casualties are women and children. The United Nations has described the situation as a humanitarian nightmare that contradicts the existence of a formal truce. Furthermore, diplomatic efforts to advance negotiations to the next phase remain at a standstill.
