Anders Lee Signs Three-Year Deal with Utah Hockey Club

Lee is fifth in franchise history in games played (923), fourth in goals (308), and tenth in points (549) since being drafted by New York in the sixth round (152nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft. He has been a nine‑time 20‑goal scorer.

Lee accumulated 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) across 46 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

“We discussed a contract, and the term was a key factor for us,” said Islanders GM Mathieu Darche. “Each player has a different situation depending on their career stage. Anders, an unrestricted free agent, wanted a specific term and salary, and we couldn’t reach an agreement. I wish him the best—he’s earned the contract length and compensation he sought.”

On Wednesday, the Utah team acquired forward Vincent Trocheck from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Sean Durzi, prospect forward Cole Beaudoin, and a third‑round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
