Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been detained in the United States after UK prosecutors said they would pursue further charges.
The Crown Prosecution Service announced that Andrew Tate faces seven additional rape charges, along with allegations of sex trafficking and child pornography.
Tristan Tate is charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts related to arranging or facilitating sexual exploitation trafficking.
The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, and the brothers have consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS’s Special Crime Division, stated: “These charging decisions follow receipt of additional evidence from Bedfordshire Police, raising the total number of alleged victims in the case to seven.”
U.S. Marshals confirmed to the BBC that the brothers were taken into custody, and a Department of Justice spokesperson said the arrests were made pursuant to extradition proceedings.
The CPS added that prosecutors intend to pursue the brothers’ extradition to the United Kingdom.
In May 2025, prosecutors disclosed that Andrew Tate, aged 39, and Tristan Tate, aged 37, will ultimately face a combined total of 21 charges in the UK.
The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between 2012 and 2016.
