Tottenham are close to finalising a deal with Scotland international full-back Andy Robertson following his exit from Liverpool.

The 32-year-old made his final appearance for Liverpool in the match against Brentford on Sunday, having confirmed that his contract will conclude this summer.

While the exact terms of the prospective transfer remain under discussion, an agreement in principle has been reached.

Tottenham, previously managed by Thomas Frank, had shown interest in Robertson during the January transfer window.

A preliminary agreement between the clubs was reached, but Liverpool withdrew after being unable to bring back Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma.

Spurs secured their survival on the season’s final day by defeating Everton under new manager Roberto de Zerbi.

Robertson, who has earned 92 caps for Scotland and will captain his nation at this summer’s World Cup, made 378 appearances for Liverpool, contributing to two Premier League titles and a Champions League victory.
