The WNBA’s rebounding queen adds two more milestones to her résumé.

Angel Reese now holds the single‑game rebound record after pulling down 26 boards in the Atlanta Dream’s 78‑71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday night, and she has also surpassed the league’s single‑season rebound total.

She eclipsed Chamique Holdsclaw’s 2003 single‑game mark of 24 rebounds and topped A’ja Wilson’s 2024 single‑season benchmark of 451 rebounds, finishing her rookie campaign with the Dream at 458 rebounds.

Although her shooting was off at Crypto.com Arena, Reese dominated the glass, securing 18 defensive and eight offensive rebounds. For context, the Sparks as a team gathered only 32 rebounds compared to her 26.

“She’s been exceptional lately,” Dream coach Karl Smesko said of Reese, who also contributed 11 points and three steals. “Her growth has been steady all season. Each month she gets more comfortable, and now she’s really hitting her stride.”

Reese has led the WNBA in rebounds per game in each of her three seasons, posting the three highest rebounding averages in league history; no other player has averaged even 12 rebounds per game, while she peaked at 13.1 during her rookie year.

The third‑year forward is enjoying one of the best stretches of her young career, particularly with Atlanta. She tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds in a win over the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday, followed by a perfect 9‑of‑9 shooting night against the Sparks two days later, adding 10 rebounds and eight assists. On Saturday she posted 31 points, 14 rebounds and four steals in a victory over the Phoenix Mercury, earning Associated Press Player of the Week honors.

Her record‑breaking performance on Monday helped the Dream cap a perfect road trip.

Atlanta clinched a playoff berth for the fourth straight season over the weekend, marking Reese’s first postseason appearance. She will also represent Team USA at the FIBA World Cup in September, her inaugural senior national team call‑up.
