Logan O’Hoppe brought home Nolan Schanuel with a check‑swing bouncer up the third‑base line with two outs in the 10th, sparking a 7‑6 comeback victory for the Los Angeles Angels over the Baltimore Orioles in the final game of their three‑game series on Wednesday afternoon in Anaheim, California.

The Angels tied the game when reliever Keegan Akin (0‑1), late to cover first, misfielded Jeremiah Jackson’s underhand throw to first on a Schanuel grounder that should have ended the contest. Instead, automatic runner Oswald Peraza crossed the plate, and the ball caromed off Schanuel’s foot, rolling down the right‑field line for a three‑base error on Akin that set up O’Hoppe’s decisive hit.

Jorge Soler homered, and Wade Meckler went 2‑for‑4 with two RBIs and a run scored as the Angels secured their first series win over Baltimore since July 2021. Chase Silseth (3‑1) earned the victory in relief.

Samuel Basallo launched two home runs and drove in four runs, while Pete Alonso went 3‑for‑4 with a double, a walk, two runs and two RBIs, and Taylor Ward added a double, two hits and a run for the Orioles.

Los Angeles opened the scoring with an 11th‑inning home run by Soler down the left‑field line, driving in Meckler, who had singled to start the game.

Baltimore tied the game at 2‑2 in the second when Alonso opened with a single and later scored on Basallo’s towering 434‑foot home run into the right‑center bleachers.

The Orioles extended their lead to 5‑2 in the third with three runs. Leody Taveras walked to lead off, scored on Alonso’s double into the left‑field corner, and Basallo followed with his second straight homer — a 371‑foot line drive that cleared the right‑field fence for his 12th home run of the season.

Los Angeles narrowed the score to 5‑5 in the eighth with three two‑out runs. Donovan Walton stretched his hit streak to nine games with a double and later scored on a pinch‑hit single by Vaughn Grissom. After Schanuel and Denzer Guzman walked to load the bases, Meckler delivered a two‑run single to right to tie the game.

Baltimore regained a 6‑5 lead in the 10th when Alonso delivered a two‑out RBI single down the right‑field line, driving in Ward, who had singled and advanced to second after Silseth retired automatic runner Blaze Alexander on a short comebacker.
