At Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday, Balenciaga unveiled its 55th couture collection, the debut designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The runway featured a distinctive soundtrack crafted by the acclaimed artist ANOHNI.
In a delightful surprise, the orchestral accompaniment opened with ANOHNI’s rendition of Selena’s “I Could Fall In Love,” a track from the late singer’s posthumous album Dreaming Of You. The set immediately transitioned to “Perfect Day” by her late collaborator Lou Reed, a song she has performed previously. This was followed by three of ANOHNI’s own compositions—“Miracle Now,” “My Lord My Love,” and “Hope There’s Someone”—with the pieces eventually weaving together in layered harmonies.
