Apple has introduced HomeView, a new $299 smart home display designed to act as a central hub for households. The device enables users to stream music and videos, make FaceTime calls, and manage compatible smart home accessories—all from a single screen.
Powered by Apple Intelligence and an enhanced Siri AI assistant, HomeView will begin taking pre-orders on October 13, with general availability starting November 13, 2026.
Apple HomeView Specs: Display, Siri AI and Personalised Access
HomeView places personalised assistance at the heart of its smart home experience. According to Apple’s official announcement, the display can recognise up to six individuals, granting each household member tailored access to their own apps, widgets, and information.
The upgraded Siri AI assistant supports more conversational interactions and delivers personalised responses using data from apps like Calendar and Messages when paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad running Apple Intelligence.
HomeView also serves as a smart home monitoring hub. Users can control compatible lights, thermostats, locks, and blinds directly through the display. A dedicated interface allows viewing of up to nine camera feeds simultaneously, and with compatible cameras plus an eligible iCloud+ subscription, the system can detect and identify people, pets, and deliveries—sending notifications when activity is detected.
For entertainment, HomeView supports Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple TV, and third-party apps, all backed by an integrated speaker system built for Spatial Audio. FaceTime, voice-controlled messaging, and Apple’s Intercom feature provide additional communication options for household members.
Apple emphasises privacy as a core principle of the device. The company states that its Secure Enclave technology isolates camera and microphone data processing from the rest of the system.
HomeView is priced at $299 in the United States. Pre-orders open on October 13, 2026, with shipments beginning November 13. However, European customers will need to wait, as Apple has confirmed the device won’t launch in the European Union initially due to Siri AI not being available in iOS within the region.
Why This Matters
HomeView represents Apple’s continued effort to integrate AI-powered assistance into daily household routines, blending personalised information, entertainment, and smart home controls into one cohesive device.
