RAWALPINDI: In two separate incidents on Thursday night, armed assailants robbed a trader of Rs8 million and deprived a motorcyclist of cash, a mobile phone, and his bike, police reported on Friday.
Adnan Khan, a resident of Khayaban-i-Sir Syed, was returning home with his cousin and a friend around 10:30 pm after closing his shop when two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted them near Abdul Qadir Park. According to the FIR, the pillion rider fired shots into the air and forced them to hand over a bag containing Rs8 million before fleeing the scene. Pirwadhai police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
In the second incident, Mohammad Aziz, a resident of Westridge, was en route to the fruit market around 1:00 pm when two motorcyclists stopped him on School Road. At gunpoint, the robbers seized his motorcycle, mobile phone, and Rs25,000 in cash before escaping.
