The agent of Roma midfielder Manu Kone has revealed that Arsenal have reached an agreement on personal terms with the French international. The move to the Premier League champions is expected to be finalized immediately following the conclusion of the World Cup. Reports suggest Arsenal have offered Kone a five-year contract, and the club is now set to enter formal negotiations with the Serie A side.
The Gunners are reportedly prepared to pay up to €72 million for the midfielder, who joined Roma from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2025. During his last Serie A campaign, Kone made 29 appearances and scored two goals, adding to a professional pedigree that includes stints in the Bundesliga and with Toulouse in France.
A current member of the French national squad competing in the World Cup across Canada, the USA, and Mexico, Kone has earned 14 caps for his country.
Arsenal are believed to be the frontrunners for the transfer, with the club’s board granting Mikel Arteta the approval to secure the signing. While Arteta has also been linked with Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali, Kone’s ability to operate as both a creative and defensive midfielder provides a level of versatility that is highly attractive to the Arsenal manager.
