Arsenal face a significant defensive setback for their Premier League title defense opener against newly promoted Coventry City. The Gunners will be without William Saliba, as the French center-back has been sidelined for an indefinite period following a back injury sustained during the World Cup.
Adding to the injury concerns, Dutch right-back Jurrien Timber is currently working toward full fitness after dealing with an ankle injury that sidelined him for much of the previous season.
In response to these absences, Arsenal have reportedly expressed interest in signing Quansah. While Liverpool retains a clause to match any incoming offer following his move to the Bundesliga last year, the club is not currently expected to exercise that option.
Quansah’s recent pedigree includes a standout performance with the England squad, reaching the semi-finals of this summer’s World Cup.
During the tournament, he featured as a starter in three matches at right-back. However, a red card in the Round of 16 against Mexico prevented him from participating in the subsequent quarter-final victory over Norway and the semi-final loss to Argentina.
Following his departure from Anfield, Quansah had an impressive campaign in Germany, making 44 appearances across all competitions and contributing five goals for Leverkusen.
