Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, telling Sky Sports:

“We impressed from the outset, linking up well and scoring two excellent goals.”

“After the break, Martin Ødegaard’s goal came a bit fortuitously, and we then had to see the game out. The overall display was very positive, with several standout individual performances.”

When questioned about transfer activity, specifically the acquisitions of the 28‑year‑olds Bruno Guimarães and Ezri Konsa rather than younger prospects, he added:

“We assess the squad holistically. Our defence is already youthful, while in midfield we have a different profile but also the next generation in Max Dowman, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis‑Skelly.”

“They are 28, not 38, and they are in their prime. They will contribute significantly for us over the coming years.”
