Arsenal are expected to miss out on signing Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior this summer, according to Sky Sports News.
The Gunners have identified Vinícius as their top left‑wing target and have indicated they are prepared to meet his wage demands.
However, the club has encountered a setback, with Real Madrid ready to retain Vinícius despite limited progress in negotiations.
His current contract runs until June 2027, and he has been hesitant to extend, while Madrid has not met his wage expectations.
Nevertheless, Madrid intend to begin the new season with the 26‑year‑old and remain optimistic about persuading him to renew before the year ends.
The development represents a setback for Arsenal, who have yet to secure a marquee left‑wing player, having previously missed out on Morgan Rogers.
Rogers was widely expected to join the defending champions earlier this month, but Chelsea secured the Aston Villa winger.
