Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update on defender Cristhian Mosquera following the 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Mosquera sustained a muscle injury during the 1-0 away win against Aston Villa on August 31 and was omitted from the matchday squad to face the Blues yesterday.
Although it was initially expected that he would pass a fitness test, Arteta confirmed that Mosquera’s concern remains minor and will be closely monitored in the coming days to assess its progression.
The Gunners have made a flawless start to the campaign with four straight victories in all competitions and will be aiming to extend this run against Napoli in the away Champions League opener on Wednesday.
Ezri Konsa delivered an outstanding full Premier League debut for the Gunners against Chelsea in central defence, and he looks poised to continue in the role alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in Naples later this week.
