Arvid Lindblad Reflects on an Outstanding Debut F1 Season

Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad describes his inaugural Formula 1 campaign as a “dream” during his mid-season assessment of 2026’s first half.

The 19-year-old began the year strongly by reaching Q3 at the Australian Grand Prix, ultimately securing eighth place. He has since added seven additional Q3 appearances and a streak of six consecutive points-scoring finishes between Monaco and Hungary.

Evaluating his rookie campaign at the midway point, Lindblad stated the experience has exceeded his expectations.

“Definitely ‘and more,'” Lindblad told F1.com when asked if his season matched his initial expectations. “I’ve had many memorable moments, even in such a short span. The team has been amazing—they’ve been incredibly welcoming and helped me get up to speed quickly.”

“I’ve been vocal about this, but I’m living my dream this year. It’s something I always dreamed would come true, so it’s been very enjoyable and special.”

The Briton highlighted his debut at Albert Park as one of the season’s standout moments.

“For sure, Melbourne was the most special moment—just because it was the first [Grand Prix], and the way the weekend unfolded. I got a bit emotional before the race,” he continued.

“There were also special moments at some new circuits for me—Shanghai and Suzuka. Walking around, I kept thinking, ‘This is so cool. I’ve played these tracks in F1 games countless times, and now I’m doing the real thing.’ It’s a lot tighter in reality than in the games!”

“I’d say the next meaningful moment was at Silverstone. I’ve watched that race so many times at home. I remember being on the grid, actually participating, and thinking, ‘Wow, this is really happening.'”
