Officials say hundreds of people, most of them minors, have been arrested and dozens injured as a wave of school protests over overcrowded classes and teacher shortages continues to spread across France.
The demonstrations began in Paris last week and have since expanded to cities including Dijon, Lyon, Strasbourg, Lille and Marseille, where teenagers have blockaded their schools for days.
As the protests enter their second week, authorities face growing pressure to address the overcrowded classrooms and persistent staffing shortages that have fueled the unrest.
