Astera Labs Stock Surges 76% in May Amid Record AI Connectivity Demand and Strong Fundamentals]
Shares of AI connectivity provider Astera Labs (NASDAQ: ALAB) rallied 76.1% in May, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
The company has positioned itself as a leader in connectivity solutions for artificial intelligence systems, as networking between servers, chips, and memory becomes increasingly critical in the era of agentic AI.
The remarkable gain followed a stellar first quarter, during which Astera Labs reported revenue jumping 93.5% year-over-year to $308.4 million, with adjusted earnings rising 84.8% to $0.61 per share. Both figures exceeded analyst expectations.
Management also provided robust guidance, projecting $360 million in revenue at the midpoint for the current quarter—a pace that implies 26% sequential growth.
Additional momentum came on May 19 when the company presented at the J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference. CEO Jitendra Mohan highlighted the strong ramp for Astera’s new data center switch chipset, the Scorpio X fabric switch, which he expects to become the company’s largest product by sales by year-end.
The stock received further boost that day when Evercore ISI raised its price target on Astera shares from $215 to $297, citing positive channel checks and the growing importance of low-cost-per-token inference in the progression of agentic AI.

Despite trading up 250% over the past year and at a lofty 105 times this year’s earnings estimates, Astera remains well-positioned in the accelerating AI build-out. The company’s optimization technology spans GPUs, CPUs, ASICs, and memory systems—addressing the connectivity requirements that underpin the multi-trillion-dollar artificial intelligence investment wave, including recent announcements like Alphabet’s $80 billion funding initiative.
While current valuations are elevated, the long-term momentum in AI infrastructure spending suggests Astera could be a core holding for investors seeking exposure to the connectivity layer of the AI ecosystem.
