Aston Villa are reportedly on the verge of signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson in a deal valued at £64 million.
The Midlands side endured a disappointing start to the Premier League campaign, suffering a 4‑0 defeat away to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Villa were without a recognised senior striker against the Seagulls after Ollie Watkins declined to feature, eager to secure a move to Al‑Hilal.
Watkins is widely anticipated to join the Saudi Pro League club shortly, and reports suggest Villa could have a replacement in place before his departure.
The club is engaged in advanced talks with Chelsea for Jackson’s services, with an agreement worth approximately £64 million, including add‑ons, expected to be finalised soon.
Jackson has also agreed personal terms with the Europa League holders and is enthusiastic about reuniting with head coach Unai Emery.
The Senegal international enjoyed his most productive spell at Villarreal under Emery, and the Spanish coach has been instrumental in persuading him to make the move.
