At least 35 Killed, Dozens Injured in Bus Collision on Syrian Highway

DAMASCUS, Syria — At least 35 people have been killed and dozens injured after two buses collided on a highway connecting the Syrian capital to the eastern province of Deir el-Zour on Saturday, according to state media reports.

The crash occurred between a civilian bus and an Interior Ministry vehicle on the desert highway. Around 30 people sustained injuries, as reported by the SANA news agency, which cited a health ministry official.

Syrian military helicopters were deployed to the scene of the collision to assist with emergency operations.

The exact cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
