The Atlanta Dream are still searching for a venue to host their WNBA finals games against the Golden State Valkyries after scheduling conflicts ruled out State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta.
The Dream are scheduled to host Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-seven series on 22 and 24 October, along with Game 6 on 29 October if necessary. But State Farm Arena, the 17,044-seat home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, is unavailable on all three dates.
Although Atlanta hosts its core events at State Farm Arena, conflicting activities make those dates inaccessible. The arena is also slated to feature a concert by vocalist Sombr on 22 October and showcased Hawks regular‑season games on 24 and 29 October.
Earlier explorations aimed at securing a larger home court included Gas South Arena in Duluth (13,000 seats) and Georgia Tech’s McCamish Pavilion (8,600 seats), but the organization has yet to lock down a permanent arrangement, according to USA Today.
Dream president and chief operating officer Morgan Shaw Parker confirmed last week that the team was “finalizing details on their home venue and where we will be playing.” As of Sunday night, neither the Dream nor the WNBA had made a definitive decision.
Atlanta utilized six of its 22 regular‑season home games at State Farm Arena during the current campaign and hosted all three of its previous home playoff matchups there, garnering an average attendance of 9,695 fans.
