Literary Legend Jeffrey Archer Passes Away at 86
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch described the news of Archer’s passing as a profound shock.
She posted online that she felt deeply saddened by his death, reminding readers that his morning message had been a cherished source of personal encouragement.
The HarperCollins UK chief, who also served as his editor, expressed that guiding Archer through his literary journey had been a privilege of a lifetime.
“He was a master storyteller, an editor’s dream—phenomenally hardworking, tirelessly revising drafts to perfect each word, and a true champion of the collaborative spirit of fine publishing.”
HarperCollins noted that Archer had appeared at the Leicester Square Theatre in London on Sunday, signing books for fans alongside broadcaster Gyles Brandreth.
Online, Brandreth recounted that earlier yesterday he had interviewed Archer to celebrate his latest novel, which he said would be his final work.
“It looks the man delivered one last performance, full of energy and genuine humor—funny, engaging, and a sincere storyteller until the end.”
