Bahrain officially accused Iran of conducting “systematic aggression” against its territory on Sunday, involving missile and drone strikes that targeted civilian areas, according to reports from Anadolu.

In a formal statement, the Bahrain Defence Force announced that the nation’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized several “treacherous Iranian aerial attacks” throughout the day.

“Our armed forces, across all units and branches, remain at the highest state of readiness and are prepared to execute their defensive mandates to ensure the protection of the nation,” the statement continued.

Military authorities have urged the Bahraini public to remain vigilant, avoid approaching any suspicious debris or objects resulting from the strikes, and report any findings to the proper authorities immediately.

Earlier on Sunday, Tehran claimed responsibility for strikes against U.S. military installations within regional nations, including Bahrain, characterizing the actions as retaliation for American strikes against Iranian interests.

This escalation follows reports from the U.S. Central Command regarding strikes against approximately 140 targets in Iran, conducted in response to a prior Iranian attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
