Balochistan CM Reports 75 Militants Neutralized in Recent Security Operations

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced on Friday that 75 terrorists have been killed during various intelligence-led operations since July 5.

In a statement shared via X, CM Bugti noted that “Operation Shaban” is yielding significant results following the recent attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station.

The Chief Minister detailed that 39 militants were neutralized during Operation Shaban through coordinated ground and air strikes conducted by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police in difficult mountainous terrain. This brings the total number of terrorists killed in various intelligence-based operations since July 5 to 75.

Additionally, Bugti reported that security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attempt on the Zehri Police Station in the Kachhar district today.

“The writ of the state will be upheld in Balochistan at all costs; terrorists will not escape their fate,” Bugti asserted.

This escalation in security measures follows a statement from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who indicated that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has reached a unified decision to eradicate terrorism following a series of major attacks in Balochistan.

The Prime Minister shared these remarks during a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee on the National Action Plan in Quetta, which was also attended by Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Presiding over the session, PM Shehbaz emphasized the collective resolve of the leadership, stating, “One thing is decided: it is a mutual and singular decision of the civil and military leadership that we must end terrorism collectively.”

The Prime Minister’s visit follows military reports confirming that at least 42 individuals—primarily security and law enforcement officers—have been killed in terrorist attacks and subsequent operations in Balochistan since July 5.

During a press briefing in Rawalpindi, a military spokesperson identified three major recent incidents: an armed attack on the outskirts of Quetta on July 5, an assault on a police post in Ziarat on July 6, and an ambush on an army convoy in Bela this past Wednesday.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry warned militants and their supporters that security forces will respond with decisive force as they continue their pursuit of those responsible for the attacks.

The Director General also attributed the instability to external influences, specifically naming India and Afghanistan, stating the attacks are the work of India and allied forces intent on undermining Pakistan’s prosperity and stability.
