QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti visited Police Hawaldar Habib Ur Rehman at Trauma Centre Quetta on Monday. The officer suffered serious injuries after gunmen opened fire while he was protecting a polio vaccination team in Chaman.
Despite ongoing threats aimed at health workers and security personnel, Hawaldar Rehman continued to serve on the front line to ensure children receive protection from polio.
During the visit, the chief minister inquired about the officer’s condition and instructed doctors to provide the best possible medical care.
Praising his courage and dedication, Mr. Bugti said those safeguarding innocent children and supporting the fight against polio are the true heroes of the nation.
“The enemies of peace and humanity cannot weaken our resolve through such cowardly attacks,” the chief minister said, adding that the sacrifices of police personnel and health workers will always be honoured with respect and pride.
He noted that Hawaldar Rehman’s bravery sends a strong message that the fight against polio and terrorism will continue despite all threats.
