Days of relentless heavy rainfall have inundated Bangkok, prompting the city’s governor to declare the capital a disaster zone.

Approximately 300 mm (11.8 in) of rain have fallen during this period, with additional precipitation anticipated in the coming days, as Governor Chadchart Sittipunt reported.

Footage from Bangkok captures vehicles attempting to navigate streets completely submerged under floodwaters, with several cars left stranded.
