Barcelona are on the verge of securing Brazilian forward Kerolin from Manchester City for €1.5 million (£1.28 million).
The transfer would set a new benchmark for fees in the Women’s Super League, surpassing Olivia Smith’s £1 million move to Arsenal from Liverpool last summer.
Kerolin joined City in January of last year and still had two years remaining on her contract, yet Barça remain resolute in acquiring her to exceed their own transfer record by over 200 %.
Their previous most costly acquisition was then‑Manchester City midfielder Keira Walsh, who arrived in 2022 for €470,000 (£400,000).
The Spanish champions have already seen forward Salma Paralluelo depart this summer.
Kerolin contributed nine goals in 15 WSL appearances for City last season, helping the club claim its first WSL title since 2016.
