England’s Round of 16 clash against Mexico is confirmed among four World Cup last-16 fixtures broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with all eight matches across the tournament covered comprehensively by BBC Sport.
The Three Lions secured their spot in the last 16 by defeating DR Congo 2-1 in the previous round. They will face the tournament co-hosts at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium on Monday, 6 July at 01:00 BST.
Alongside the England-Mexico fixture, BBC will also broadcast France’s encounter with Paraguay on Saturday at 22:00. La Albirroja advanced past Germany via penalties to set up this showdown against the 2022 champions.
European titans Spain will take on either Portugal or Croatia in Dallas on Monday, 6 July at 20:00, while co-hosts the United States will meet Belgium in a Tuesday (7 July) 01:00 match as Mauricio Pochettino’s side continue their impressive tournament run.
The remaining four last-16 ties will exclusively air on ITV. All matches feature live radio commentary via BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds, alongside real-time text updates and expert analysis on BBC Sport’s digital platforms.
Match highlights available each morning on iPlayer, BBC Sport app, and BBC Football YouTube channel provide spoiler-free alternatives for viewers unable to watch live. BBC Sport’s interactive 3D viewing experience is now accessible for all BBC televised matches on their website and app, with replay functionality for ITV’s coverage.
