A source confirmed to Postmedia that buying B.C. Place has been on Doman’s radar for a long time.
Doman’s now-stated interest comes a day after jobs minister Ravi Kahlon told Postmedia the province would consider selling the stadium to the Whitecaps if the terms were right. That would, of course, be a very expensive proposition given the debt the stadium carries from extensive renovations over the past decade, not to mention the value of the land the stadium sits on.
The Whitecaps have expressed interest in building their own stadium in the long term but would presumably also be interested in purchasing B.C. Place if they could secure the financing.
