The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed a title sponsorship agreement with Muthoot Fincorp for the next two home seasons, running through March 31, 2028. The deal carries a base valuation of INR 4.85 crore per match and encompasses approximately 35 home internationals across the two-season cycle.
Operating under the ‘Blue Muthoot’ branding, the sponsorship covers a schedule comprising 10 Tests, 12 ODIs, and 13 T20Is. The partnership commences with the ODI series against the West Indies, beginning September 27, 2026, in Thiruvananthapuram. In conjunction with the title agreement, SBI Life, Campa, and ChatGPT have been appointed as Associate Partners for the same duration.
The BCCI announced the arrangement on Saturday, September 26, via a media advisory released on the eve of the opening ODI against the West Indies.
Negotiation Process
The path to this agreement was indirect. The BCCI initially floated a tender for the title rights with a submission deadline of August 13, which attracted no bids. The board subsequently entered direct negotiations with Muthoot Fincorp, culminating in the current arrangement.
The previous title sponsor, IDFC First Bank, held the rights at INR 4.2 crore per match. At the reported base price of INR 4.85 crore per match, the new deal represents an increase on that figure. However, reports from Storyboard18 suggest the final concluded price may sit below the base price, and the BCCI has not officially confirmed the final financial terms.
Estimated Total Value
Applying the base price of INR 4.85 crore across the full slate of approximately 35 home internationals yields a headline valuation between INR 150 crore and INR 171 crore for the two-season period. Varied estimates have circulated across different outlets, and clarity will likely only arrive with official confirmation from the BCCI.
The two-season schedule through March 2028 grants Muthoot Fincorp prominent visibility across all three formats on Indian soil, with the West Indies ODI series in late September 2026 serving as the immediate launchpad for the partnership.
