During its last session before the summer break, the Belgian federal government approved a package of measures that includes a ban on importing goods produced in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to Anadolu.
This restriction forms part of a broader agreement reached at the end of the previous summer, responding to Israel’s military operation in Gaza and the rising civilian casualties.
Specific implementation details for the ban remain to be determined, Belga News Agency reports.
Israel has persisted in breaching the ceasefire agreement that has been in force since October 10, 2025. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that these violations have resulted in the deaths of more than 1,100 Palestinians and injuries to over 3,600 others.
The ministry estimates that Israel’s campaign in Gaza since October 2023 has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 173,000, while destroying roughly 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
