Best Prime Day Laptop Deals: Save Up to $500 (2026)

Laptop prices have risen significantly over the past six months. The memory shortage wreaked havoc on prices, even causing Apple to hike them up in June. That makes deals on major shopping events like Amazon Prime Day even more important. For the retailer’s Prime Big Deal Days fall sale, I’ve spotted a number of my favorite laptops among the dozens I’ve already tested this year.

The MacBook Air is $200 off for Prime Day, bringing it to $1,099. That’s the cheapest it’s been since June. It’s a remarkable deal compared to the competition, especially given the 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM it comes with. Apple raised prices across the board on Macs this past June, but this discount reverses that trend entirely. This sale targets the latest M5 model, which launched earlier this spring and delivered strong results during my testing. It stands out as the top recommendation not just for MacBook users but as the best overall laptop option. The $200 discount applies to every configuration available on Amazon, including the larger 15‑inch variant.

This represents the best price on the newest Surface Laptop launch. Previously, I usually advised switching to the 2024 model even though its older Snapdog processor ran cooler and faster, partly due to its steep cost. This $500 discount and another $70 below its historical low bring the unit close in price to the 2024 version, justifying a purchase. The Snapdragon X2 Elite GPU delivers substantially better performance than the older X1 chip, making the reduced rate a compelling choice for those prioritizing raw power.
