Big Sean and Kanye West reunite after feud with surprise appearance at Chicago concert

During West’s homecoming concert at Soldier Field in Chicago on September 4, Big Sean made a surprise appearance to perform his hit single “I Don’t Fuck With You.”

Thirty years of rivalry ended abruptly when two tracks crashed onstage, bringing Kanye West and Big Sean together in a joint performance.
The moment arrived after a decade-long chasm that began in late 2021, when senior designer revealed he believed West owed him six million dollars—a claim that sparked intense public debate about financial disputes and industry betrayals.

In 2021, West asserted that signing Sean through his label, Good Music—where Sean’s early career flourished from 2007 until the breakup—that decision had been the “worst mistake I’ve ever made.”
The two artists had once been close allies, with Kanye rediscovering Sean in 2007 and subsequently signing him to G.O.O.D. Music.

As they reconvened, the stage featured live renditions of past collaborations, including “Clique” and a special appearance by 2 Chainz. Onstage, Sean declared, “Chicago, I love you forever,” adding, “Ye, I love you, bro—I truly appreciate you.”

The performance occurs amid West’s broader return journey, which launched at SoFi Stadium in California before expanding to venues across Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
Notable among recent shows was the Istanbul leg, which set a new benchmark by drawing a crowd of 118,000 fans—the largest audience recorded at the Metropolitän Stadium—and cementing East‑West as the biggest draws of the global rollout.

However, the resurgence has faced significant obstacles.
Recent tours have suffered multiple cancellations due to legal controversies stemming from accusations of antisemitism and alleged misuse of neo‑Nazi symbols in prior U.K. concerts. These incidents prompted regulatory action: the Turkish Wireless Festival canceled its 2026 edition after authorities blocked West’s entry; scheduled shows in Poland and Switzerland were withdrawn; a French venue postponed due to health concerns; and even domestic efforts met resistance, with Florida lawmakers attempting to halt shows in Tampa and San Antonio’s civic leadership refusing permission for the July 4 Alamodome performance.

Not all opportunities were lost. The two remaining stops in St. Petersburg took place less than a month ago at the Gazprom Arena, selling out instantly and allowing West to become one of the earliest major artists to perform publicly following Russia’s 2022 invasion and subsequent nationwide arts bans.
