Bitcoin and gold (XAU) trimmed their early losses during Friday’s Asian trading session, finding support alongside a broad rebound in equity markets as the Japanese yen relinquished its initial gains.

The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization climbed back toward $82,000 after dropping below $81,000 overnight, based on CoinDesk data. As of this writing, bitcoin was testing its 50-day simple moving average, a key indicator of short-term market sentiment. Major altcoins—including ether , XRP (XRP), Solana (SOL), and Dogecoin — mirrored this recovery.

Over the past 24 hours, approximately $435 million in crypto futures positions were liquidated, with $385 million attributed to long contracts, highlighting heavy bullish positioning in the market.

Gold prices rebounded to $2,020 per ounce from an earlier low of $1,986—a level not seen since July 29.

Leading Asian equity benchmarks, including Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s KOSPI, also recovered from intraday lows. Nasdaq futures edged up 0.17% to 29,190, improving from 29,022 earlier in the session.
