Bitfinex users holding any of the 13 recently delisted cryptocurrencies must withdraw their assets by 10 a.m. UTC on August 31. Failure to act by this deadline will leave users reliant on a restricted recovery process that incurs additional fees.
Once the deadline passes, the exchange will disable standard withdrawal functions for the affected tokens. Any subsequent attempts to retrieve these assets will be handled manually at Bitfinex’s discretion during a two-month window.
The exchange has cautioned that this manual recovery process offers no guarantee of success, involves fees deducted from the recovered balance, and lacks a fixed timeline for completion.
Affected assets and platform exceptions
The withdrawal mandate applies to Cosmos (ATOM), Bit2Me (B2M), Bitget Token (BGB), EigenLayer (EIGEN), Vaulta (A), GateToken (GT), Jupiter (JUP), Kava (KAVA), Lido (LDO), NEO, Nexo (NEXO), OMNI, and Ultra (UOS). Additionally, Bitfinex requires users to clear all NEOGAS balances.
Several of these assets are central to major crypto ecosystems. For example, LDO is the native token for Lido, a leading Ethereum liquid staking platform, while EIGEN serves the EigenLayer Ethereum restaking protocol.
Users should be aware that some assets may appear under alternative API or interface codes, such as ATO for Cosmos or EOS for Vaulta. However, Tether (USDT) on Cosmos and Unus Sed LEO on Vaulta are not impacted by this delisting.
To complete a standard transfer before the cutoff, users should note that a $5 minimum applies alongside varying network fees, which may make transferring small balances uneconomical.
A separate liquidation protocol will be applied to remaining Japanese yen (JPY) and JPY-PERP balances. Bitfinex will automatically convert any remaining JPY to USDT outside of the public order book.
The exchange reserves the right to perform this conversion at its discretion using prevailing market rates, and a 5% fee will be automatically deducted from the user’s funds.
Bitfinex previously suspended trading and deposits for these specific digital assets in July, following an initial market notice issued on June 23.
