Blake Monroe and Giulia have responded after their scheduled WWE Friday Night SmackDown bout was cancelled.
Following months of anticipation, the August 21 episode of SmackDown was slated to feature the main‑roster in‑ring debut of former NXT Women’s North American Champion Blake Monroe, who was set to face Giulia.
Consistent with Monroe’s recent conduct on the brand, rather than competing, “The Glamour” assaulted her former STARDOM rival on the entrance ramp before the match could get underway.
The two eventually entered the ring, but Monroe swiftly hit Giulia with a Neutralizer, leading to the bout being officially called off.
After the attack, Monroe stated that her focus is solely on Chelsea Green and the WWE Women’s Championship, explaining why she prevented her debut from proceeding.
Speaking to WWE’s cameras, Monroe said:
“I didn’t wait four months to get called up to SmackDown, and I didn’t wait nine years to get to WWE to have my debut like that.
“I’m World Championship material, so you find Chelsea Green, you bring her to me, and then you get The Glamour. Until then get out my face.”
The following day after WWE SmackDown, Giulia took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the match, simply writing:
Ridiculous
This then led to a response from Monroe, who expectedly showed little in the way of remorse for her actions, as she wrote:
womp womp
Giulia then answered back once more, telling her rival to “keep yapping”, as it remains unclear if/when fans will get to see the pair lock up on WWE TV.
Chelsea Green is currently out of action with a broken orbital bone, and Nick Aldis has given her 30 days to get cleared and defend her WWE Women’s Championship, otherwise she’ll be stripped of the gold.
While she didn’t take any offense herself, Green did get physical with a kendo stick on last night’s SmackDown, as she came to the defense of Tiffany Stratton, who was being beaten down two‑on‑one by The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend).
